Designation System

Inside diameter designation

Bearings with the inside diameter (ID) up to 10 mm.
The first figure from the right designates the diameter value in millimeters.
If the diameter is fractional (e.g. 1.5 or 2.5 mm), figures designating the diameter are separated from other figures with a slash.
For example: 7601/2,5̃̉.Bearings with the ID from 10 to 20 mm.
The first two figures from the right designate the actual diameter value, diametres 12, 15 and 17 mm
are designated 01, 02 and 03 respectively. If the ID differs from that encoded, it is designated similar to
the closest encoded one; in that case the figure 9 is placed the third. For example, a bearing with a 18 mm ID shall be designated 86903̃̉.
Bearings with the ID from 20 mm and more.
The first two figures at the right designate ID as the quotient obtained from
dividing the diameter value by 5, e. g. the diameter of 20 mm is designated as 04, etc.
The diameter of 22 mm is designated as it is (without the division by 5), e. g. 5-69/22̃̉,
in that case the figure 9 is placed the third, before a slash.

Outside diameter designation

The bearing outside diameter (OD) is encoded in accordance with GOST (all-Union State Standard) 3478.
The figure designating the diameter is placed the second from the right for bearings with ID up to 10 mm,
and the figure 0 is placed the third from the right.
For bearings with OD of 10 mm and more the series figure is placed the third from the right.
If you find out that in the bearing designation an OD figure does not correspond to GOST 3478,
or if the bearing dimensions do not conform to those expressed in the series ¹, it means
that the given bearing non-standard as to its dimensions.
To that case the main part of the designation shall not consist of more than six symbols.

Bearing designation in accordance with the outer load direction

The fourth figure of the main part of the designation from the right designate the bearing type according to the main load direction.
For example:
0 is radial ball bearing
6 is radial thrust ball bearing
8 is thrust ball bearing

Bearing width designation

The bearing width corresponding to its definite size is designated by a GOST 3478
width figure being placed the seventh from the right.
If there is no figure at that place, the bearing is of the zero series or of non-standard size.
Zeroes at the left from signifying figures are not placed into the designation.

Additional symbols at the left

At the left from the main part of the designation through a dash is designated the following (from the left to the right):
accuracy class as per GOST 520, radial clearance group, friction torque row.
A standard group of radial clearance of radial bearings and radial clearance of radial thrust bearings are not designated.
If friction requirements are specified, the letter M is placed the second.
A friction torque is designated in conformity with Specs ̉Ó37.006.085 depending
on the type of the inspection instrument and friction torque value.
